Just one of the many relief and support groups and organizations that have mobilized to help out the victims of Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana), the Megatent in Ortigas, Pasig City became a center for donations of cash and much needed goods. It was also a place where hundreds of volunteers put their good intentions into action by sorting out food and even distributing the relief goods to various areas in and around Metro Manila themselves. By this time the Megatent will transfer its operations elsewhere, as all donations brought there will be sent to evacuees assigned to the Ultra Stadium nearby.

But it doesn’t matter where you extend your help, as many of our countrymen remain needy, homeless and permanently scarred by Ondoy’s aftermath, and your help would certainly be put to good use in many relief centers nationwide. It doesn’t matter if you can only spare a little, since every little bit counts. In fact you can just give a little of your time by sorting out and packing food, clothing, and medicines… even better if you can help distribute the goods to relief drop-off points within your area. Listings of drop-off and volunteer centers are found on the web, and displayed during news and public service programs on TV as well. There’s no better time to share our blessings than now.
